2009 250 Pro XS Sluggish Take Off

A buddy of mine os having issues with his 2009 250 Pro XS. He states it is taking roughly 10-15 seconds for it to get up on plane and it is feeling very sluggish. Once it is up on plane the motor seems to run fine up to top end. Anyone have any suggestions on what the problem might be??? Thanks in advance!!

PVS holes would be first check on the prop. Take one or two out or replace with larger holed plugs till you achieve the holeshot desired.

If that doesn't help check back here with setup and all other pertinent info.

What prop is he running (and on what rig/setup specifically)?

If it's a Tempest prop.... does he have the Blowout Ring installed?
