Wanna drill some HOLES in your new RUDE L.U. ??

    Wow! Gotta wonder about this...

    http://www.boatsetup.com/Weedring.html

Might be the appropriate FIX, and you guys may agree, but I don't think I'd do it to mine.

I think this is the same place that the "one can per cylinder" decarb procedure was posted.

I saw this when I was looking at ways to make sure I didn't melt the hub in my new Mazco. I got the torq tab with the big water inlet instead. From the looks of it, it would work, but I don't have big enough kahunas to try it on my motor. I'd gladly try it on yours though.

I believe this was a problem on the first Ficht HO's that hit the market. Weed ring meltdown and premature prop hub failure. Drilling that hole helped according to some, however I think Bomb addressed the problem on 2002 and newer motors and it is not necesarry.

Nope. I'm a CHICKEN when it comes to that stuff. If Rude had wanted the holes there, they'd have been there.

That's one way of cooling the prop hub But, that's not the way OMC wanted you to do it.

If you drop the case there is a passage from the torque tab that dumps into the bearing housing area, you just enlarge the passage to 5/16, its on the inside and if you screw it up no one will ever see it.

Because..........Mazco recommends the tab, OMC recommended the drilling to keep the blow out ring from melting if you ran a Renegade.
