I figured this topic must have been brougt up before, but I couldn't find this using search. If possible, what's involved and what are the costs?

If it ain\'t broke, don\'t fix it!![]()
I have no doubt that you will be able to trade your 225 in and upgrade to a 250.![]()
Burning the candle at both ends.
Can it be done: Yes.
Should it be done: No, it's indeed illegal to modify the horsepower or emissions footprint of this engine.
Would it be cost effective to do so: No. Cylinder porting is DIFFERENT (meaning the entire engine would need to be torn down), and PCM calibration is different.
You would probably come out further ahead to go with the "4-bolt upgrade package" (this is the one that comes with a nice, shiny-new 250 ProXS, complete with a 5-and-Drive warranty package).![]()
