Does anyone know where to purchase a line spool holder made to mount under the deck lids? Or any other idea to keep line in the boat ready for quick spooling?

I use a PLano box bought from BPS. It is not made to be mounted but you could probably make it work somehow. Here is a pic of what I have!

I like it, it is real easy to use. Just push the line through the rubber grommet and start winding. I have two to keep all my different spools organized. I personaly think it is bad to keep spare line in the boat except when on trips. So I carry these little boxes in the house with me after each trip!

Looks like a great idea, but for those who buy wider spools or bulk size spools, I don't think they are adjustable are they?
Check with Skeeter Boats. My TZX came with one mounted under the side storage lid.

Can't say I have seen this before, good find![]()
The under lid rigs are a mess. Line uncoils, rattles. One came on my Skeeter and I gave it away. My friend mounted it in his boat for one season and has since removed it also. I like the line box idea also.

will it hold the larger spools of line too?? Or just the standard 300yd spool?

The spool slots are pre-set for 1" spools - no adjustment available. One of them came in the Bill Dance soft bag I bought at BPS - it's just sitting, because I'm not going to buy 1" spools of line just to use it......
anyone wants it, I'll mail it to them..

I carry a small bench vise with me while I am on the road. I use a long screw driver and a couple of springs to go on either side of the spool.
You can adjust the screwdriver for the desired tension within the vise.
I have found that a small 5lb vise works really well. You can't pull it around when spooling the line, and its not that cumbersome to take on the road or in the boat if you had to.

I'd be worried about heat building up inside that type of box.
That is a great tip for changing line out in the garage!![]()
