How deep crankbaits run

Sometimes when we buy a new crankbait and throw the box away it is hard to remember how deep it is supposed to run. I was having this problem with some Strike King #4 and #5 because they are so similar in size so to solve this problem whenever I buy a new crankbait I etch the running debth on the lip with an electric etcher. It doesn't affect the bait and it is there for good.

all I do is take a black maker pen and write the # under the throat of crankbait, takes two seconds, and does not interferee with lures movement. Ink will out last the crankbait.

I have a Excel spreadsheet with all the depths for each type of crank on it that I keep in my accessory bag.

I always through the same brand and models, easy to memorize depth.

Guess we all aren't as intelligent as Neilsure so we need a little help.

Didnt claim to be a genius. I just keep it simple by limiting what kind of cranks I buy.

i use a fine tip permanent marker to write the running depth and the color pattern on the bottom of the bill

It's okay to be simple, Oops, keep it simple. I prefer to have so many I need a spreadsheet to try and keep track.
