    October Tip

For us who have to leave our boats outdoors do you have a problem with water collecting on your boat cover I came up with a cheap fix to eliminate that problem. I remove the front and back seats and just leave the shaft in the pedestals. I purchased some 2 1/2-3 inch PVC and 2 90 degree elbows and made a support pole to keep my cover up like the top of a tent. You have to play with the height of the short pieces that cover your seat shafts and then when you measure it out glue it all together. This piece runs right down the middle of your boat and keeps the water from pooling up on your cover during storage. So all you need is a long piece to go from pedestal to pedestal cut to size and glue the 90's to the short pieces that go over your seat shafts......Works great

P.S. The extra piece of PVC that was left over I cut down and use to cover the trailor jack shaft so I don't get grease on myself working on the boat .....

Sounds like a good idea, but with my seats/pedestal in place and the cover cinched tight, it doesn't have any slack to make a puddle.

I use the PVC over the seat poles as described, but I drilled a hole in the top of each pole and strung a fat nylon rope through the holes and knotted each end after finding the right length. This works great and is easier than having the long pole down the middle.

I use a PVC pipe but instead of using seat posts I just made T shaped legs. Set one leg on the back deck behind the seats and on the front right behind the butt seat.
