Don't know if this has been posted before but you can put the handle from the rope on the ribs from where the cables come out of the head of trolling motor so the rope does not fly in the wind.

Cool... I take my handle and stick it on top of the rubber/plasticc fork that the shaft lays into... Not strait on, but off to the side... Works good for me...

I wrap around the ribbed area!! Either way works great.
When retracting the motor for the day I place the handle inbetween the 2 brackets and it rides in that recess without beating your glass up to and from the lake. No knots to worry about and it will never get out of the compartment until you lower the motor again.

Thats the way I do it too. Between spot i just tuck it under a rod butt and it stays put.
