If you need to adjust the cable tension screw located under where the cable enters the foot pedal, how difficult is the footpedal to remove from the recess.
Thanks
It is real easy Mr B,,,,,,,
the foot pedal just sits in the recess, Doesn't screw in or nuthin like that,
I am goin to get one for my boat BUT I have to try one out to see if I am goin to like it BEFORE I go and CUT any holes in my deck.
I have been considering this for my boat. I like to move mine from side to side using both left and right feet depending on which side of the boat I am fishing from.
I may be the only one.
If you hear banjos upstream, turn and paddle in the opposite direction.
Where did you get the insert?
Does it come in any other colors?
Cameron
I am the same way. I've been hanging on the fence because I like to slide the pedal around depending on the situation.

is the place that makes these trays. I don't think they make other colors but you could ask. I emailed a question or two and they got right back to me. I also called some dealers on there list and asked about installation for my particular model and they told me all about it. I you wanted a trick one you could paint it yourself, I would think.
On the tension screw I have adjusted the tension and left the pedal screwed down in the tray with no problem.
I avoided getting one for a while and that was stupid. It is easy to install and if you don't like it you can cover it with a plate of some kind. My buddy had one ordered on his boat and didn't like it he put an aluminum plate over it and looks fine. It's not a bad thing to have for resale, as most like the option these days. Any how I love it and my Captain Morgan stance is gone and I don't have muscle fatigue in my back at the end of the day. It also helps while fishing in rough water it gives me a more stable stance. I hope you enjoy as much as I have.![]()
Big 10-4 on the Captain Morgan thing.......I've never looked back after installing my Comfort Troll insert. I used to have to take Advil during the day for my back while fishing.....NOW....lol I get to stand STRAIGHT UP while using the TM. It's a little more work installing it in a Ranger...........all that FOAM. But wlll worth the effort. Just make sure you get it far enough foward as to not cut into the center storage box. Also make sure you have the rounded end to the rear when you cut the hole. LOL yep !! learned that the hard way !!!

How much space needed to install the Comfort Troll ? Sure would help my back.

Nope!!! You ain't the only one. I like to move mine from side to side also.
Yea. I would like to have a recessed pedal if it were not for that. For me fishing is much more confortable If I can move the pedal around.
If you hear banjos upstream, turn and paddle in the opposite direction.
Guys, I also used to like to move the pedal around but since installing a recess I have found it is much better in the floor. I dont need to move it because its lowered and is easy to reach from either side of the boat with either legYour back and legs will love you forever

Is this a one size fits all? MotorGuide or Minn Kota or do you have to get one for the motor you have?
I used to need to move the foot control around and didn't think I would like the recessed pedal then I traded my Ranger for a Bass Cat with the recess. I found that I don't need to move the pedal at all. I think I was only moving the pedal to try and get comfortable. I couldn't go back to the flat deck!!!

I installed one of a different brand on my 88 stratos.. the install is very easy if you have the right tools. i did mine with a jig saw and a cordless drill. I however didn't know that my deck was made out of 1 1/2 inch plywood with 1/4 inch of fiverglass top and bottom. cutting the hole tool about an hour and a half and about 10 jig saw blades... I STRONGLY recommend using a skil saw or a sawsall.. just make sure you know whats under there before you cut..... it really is a very easy install...
