    Locked keys in car

If you left your keys in the car(keyless entry ) instead of having someone drive to you in case of great distance-just have them use the remote over the phone while you hold the cell phone to the door--it works

Re: Locked keys in car (JerryT)

Damn man I've never thought of that one!!! I always keep a spare door key in my wallet, saved me a few times. After paying a locksmith once I decided I wouldn't do that again!!

I was under the impression that they worked on IR not RF. I have no idea where I came up with that though. If it does work, I agree, you should get the years top honors.

car sequrity runs on radio frequency, no way car manufacturers would use sound, theives would go nuts.

this is an urban myth. ive heard it a few too many times.

Just get a truck/car with ON STAR. A quick phone call and they can unlock it for you.

That would be a no-go over the cell phone even if manufacturers did use sound; too much EMIs with a cellular.

Re: Locked keys in car (Jazz)

So who's tried this ? I did last night at work--- It works. Tried it twice ,once on a '04 Toyota Corolla and the other vehicle was a '04 Nissan SUV.The greatest distance we tried was about a mile so not sure how far it would work but see no reason for it not to. Now, tip of the century and year ?? What do I win ???? Seriously,-- give it a try, maybe it doesn't work on some models or years BUT it DOES work. Jazz

It worked for me too! I can't believe it. My wife called me on my cell phone while standing in the driveway, I pointed the cell phone towards the truck, she clicked the unlock into the phone and the darn thing opened.

Told my wife to drive 10 miles away so we could try it again, and she did!. 30 minutes of quite time in front of the TV.

    Good one Bryan....
I can't believe this really works until I see it with my own eyes. If it does, it will definitely be hours of fun....

Hey, and, don't make fun of us for posting together....it's not cute. Not at all. (Now, I'm embarassed)

For your sake Jazz, I hope it works.
Gonna be a lot of people eatin' crow if it does.
And a lot of ribbin' if it don't
I'll give it a whirl tonight.
