I just purchased a boat with a 2005 Mercury 225 Optimax. It has the factory warranty until 02/06/2011. What are my options on an extended warranty? Also how good is the warranty? Is it as good as the factory warranty?

Thank you for the question. Sorry for the delay, I was out most of yesterday at a funeral.
The cheapest way to go is to buy a "used motor" warranty and date it to start on
2-07-11 (the day after the new expires). We have two show coupons left for $150.00 discount - that brings the price down to $1928.00 for a two year and $2678.00 for a three year.

Is it the same "as good" as the factory warranty? Power Head or lower unit goes etc.. they will fix it?
