What's The Best Way To Keep Track of Break-In Hours?

My new rig is at the dealer this week and I will be taking delivery soon.

Curious to know how everyone keeps track of their break-in time. I realize the computer chip keeps track but you can't run it into the dealer all the time for them to hook it up to their computer.

Besides just "guesstimating", is there some reliable method of keeping track of how much time you're actually putting on your new motor till it's officially broken in?

Not only are you able to keep track of engine hours.... you can watch engine temps (VERY critical), monitor water pressure, have a Digital "dead-on accurate RPM figure), view fault information, and see other pertinent engine data and warning items.

Don's correct and that's the best way. But as an option, if your just looking at total hours, just put an hour meter on your rig and wire it up to only record engine run hours.

No way i would ever own a Merc without smartcraft/mercmonitor.

Water temp, pressure, hours, fuel consumption - all great data and can even save you from blowing the thing up!!
