    225 optimax - down a cylinder?

The last couple of times i have been to the lake, The boat does fine as soon as i get there, but i run up the lake and idle through the first no wake..about a 10 minute run. After that no wake it does not want to come up on plane, like its down on power big time..seems to run fine on top end though still. Don't have max top end rpm reading after it starts doing this because both times have been night. Its an 05 optimax with new spark plugs and new fuel filter. Did it once before the plugs and filter and stilll doing it.

    Suggest starting with the basics:

    -Compression test
    -Spark test
-Fuel quality, Delivery, and Air/Fuel Pressure Tests
-*Computer Diagnostic to read (and PRINTOUT) Freeze Frame "Fault" History

*Don't skip this one... there may be critical information in this printout!

The boat had approx 1/4 tank of gas before i took to the shop, i filled up on the way. He checked every thing and couldn't find any problems, went out and ran it.. did perfect. So we are thinking maybe the previous fill up was bad gas. That is all we can come up with right now, Its running fine again.

Keep an eye on it.... and it might be well worth your time to have the BATTERY LOAD TESTED (also check battery CONNECTIONS to ensure the ENGINE CABLE is on FIRST, remaining lugs "largest to smallest", and finally finished off with a STAINLESS LOCKNUT- do NOT use wingnuts).

Information on appropriate batteries to "meet the demands" of your application are listed here:

    Bullet3119-

My 2006 Pro XS was doing the EXACT same thing. Just had all the coils replaced (according to the shop, that year was known for having bad coils), took it to the lake yesterday after picking it up, and the problem seems to be solved! I'm gonna keep my fingers crossed, though.......
