Best Ranger hull ever made???

i had a 1994 361v.

great boat.many and i mean many great memories in that boat.i hope the new owner is taking good care of it.

Here's an interesting factoid... did you know that you "could" have a few of the older Rangers made (factory fresh) today? I'm not sure which models they still have moulds in their wharehouse for but when I spoke to one of the guys down there, I asked if he could still make a 361 (for example) and he said that he believed they retained the moulds for that hull. Not exactly sure why someone would want to but it would be interesting to have a 2006 "1990 361V".

I have the 360V. Is that basically the same hull? Mine is a single console. Why are the 361's so highly regarded?.......

I'm not sure Gerry. I think they rearranged the topside and retained the same hull mould. I'll tell you this though, call Ranger and you'll most likely be put in contact with someone that laid both hulls! If you ain't got 20 years in that factory, your a newby!

I have a 363V so whats the difference between it and the 361V

361V That hull was short and wide and with 175 hp rating it was pretty quick. Hull lifts nice but it can be harder to drive than other "R" boats.

Layout was great too for that size boat. Best use of space ever.

you nameit, I have been in it in the past 3 months, came around 360 degrees and the 520 is the best bar none. I ordered one about a week ago. Rode in 05 Skeeters, tritons, blazer and stratos, all have their great points but for all around best it has to be the 520VS Ranger.

Up until the new Z boats came in the 518/519 was the most used pro tournament boat. Smallish and not the best for big water but it would get you there and fish as good as any.

I wonder why the 461vs has not gotten a vote? I thought they were great boats too and if not for the newer 500 series they would have been around longer.

I say the Z hull is better than my 5 series hull was, but that's all I have to compare it to.

i bought a 361 new in 1991 it was a super boat and since then i have owned several different boats,about two weeks ago i bought one of 1993 ranger 362 red man all american boats, the guy bought it new and always kept in the garage i wished it was a single console, i had it out wednesday for the first time and i still think that was one of best boats ever made it has a real good ride

The 461 VS in my opinion was the best all around boat that Ranger ever built. Owned a '96 model and wished a thousand times that we had it back. Excellent ride, fast, stable, etc.

My dad bought a new 1993 361V and it was the bomb. I begged him to sell it to me when he sold it. His cuzz got it instead he still runs it today.

I own a Z521 now and I love my boat. I wish I had never sold my 520VX, great platform to fish from,pretty dry boat in rough water, lots of storage and it would be paid for now!
