Need Ideas on mounting new seats

I bought some new seats for my Ranger 1750 project. The old seats had a wood base and were just attached with a piano hinge. I was looking to you guys for different ideas on how to mount these new plastic bottom seats to the fiberglass section it fits into.

If you liked the hinge you had on the old seats why not cut a piece of plywood and mount it to the four screw holes in the base of the plastic and then put your old hinge on the plywood and just mount it back in the same holes? The only thing it would do is raise it up the thickness of the plywood you use. You could countersink the 4 screw heads you use in the plastic to keep it from scratching the platform the seat sits on.

That's definitely an option. I wouldn't have any problems doing it that way. Anybody have any other ideas/suggestions?

plywood is your best bet. They make slide in metal brackets that bolt to the fiberglass and the other half screws to the seat, but it will raise it even more than the plywood does. Not to mention they aren't cheap. Just remember to seal the wood extremely well before installing. Properly sealed plywood will last a really long time in that application.
