Guys,
I had some gelcoat work done on my boat and apparently the guy fixing it spraypainted something white close buy my boat. I could get it off with wax on the boat, but no luck on windsheids or merc cal. Is there anything safe t use that will remove the overspray?

Probably would need to know exactly what it is to give you a good answer......Are you sure it is paint? If so what kind of paint? I would try Acetone first (on the cowling) not sure what to use on the windshield depends on what it is.
Be careful with the acetone.......some newer cowlings are thermo molded plastics and the acetone will react with most plastics.
Never use acetone on windscreens.
Try cleaning windscreen with isopropyl alcohol on a clean ,soft rag.
For really stubborn paint on the windscreen you can get some trisodium phosphate cleaner and make a paste to rub it out, or let it sit on the stain for a few minutes then clean.
Once it's removed use one of the commercial plexiglass polishes to buff out any small scratches/pits, then wax the glass to fill in any microscopic scratches.
If the paint was a catalyzed urethane type, it may never come out as it will have bonded with the plexiglass/acrylic
Tray a "Clay" overspray bar with soapy water. I would test first but it should work fine.
The boat was parked next to a trailor that was repainted for a tournament series
here in LA. I saw the trailor next to boat when left it and was told they were painting it the next day, had no idea they wouldn't move my boat.

Clay bar works great. My sons black truck got white bridge paint all over it. It took a while, but took it all off with a clay bar
Clay bar by Mothers. Worked awesome on my car so I would test that first. Should do the trick!
