    89' Ranger 374V restore cont.

    There's no turning back now......LOL. Here's the cap being cut off. We had severely soaked foam underneath which we removed the majority of. Also, the plywood on the underside of the cap had begun to seperate from the fiberglass matting and was mostly rotten.

    Thats what I use my tie rod seperator for to. LOL

    What are your plans for the finish for the section you cut off?

    Ron,
    We are of course rebuilding the entire underside to strenthen it back up. Were omitting the plywood and doing all fiberglass matt and weave. As for the top finish, there will be no repairing of the gelcoat. It's getting an all new paint job and gel-coat.

    Nice. I love watching the trasformation that occures on these post.
    My first "real" bass boat was a Tahiti ski boat I gutted, cut the bow out of and reglassed in the decks. I spent a lot of time working on that old boat but when she was done she was a great little 16 foot bass boat. I wish I had taken pictures of the build and I really wish I had that little boat still today.

    I will be keeping an eye on your project.
