    Bringing a 1993 Skeeter ZX175 back to life.(big post)

So this is my second boat on here. I did a 1984 Ranger 375V a year or so ago.

Anyway I found a guy selling 2 boats on craigslist for something around $2000 for both the Skeeter was without a motor. Then there was a 1981 some sort of F/S with a 115hp Mercury on it. I asked if he would sell just the skeeter and if he could send me a few pics. These are the pics I got.

He had gotten both the boats with plans on redoing the Skeeter and putting the 115 Merc on it. I did not want anything to do with the old boat with the old merc on it.

The guy was super nice and we came to a deal $500.00.

So I got the boat home

Cleaned it out and started the old wet sand and buff trick. THANKS Basscat7

I am amazed at how well it works.

After all the sanding and buffing ( and a drink or 2 also I have a vinyl plotter so I was able to make my own replacement decals.) I did the carpet on the back and stuck new decals on it.

Replaced the front dash and switches and carpet

And the last thing I have done to it sofar. Got the new seats.

That is where I am at right now. All the pumps lights and other electronics work. I am going to send the 1 windshield in and have another made.

It has been a lot of fun. I learned a lot from the Ranger I restored, and even more from this one

So I sit and look for a 150 or 175hp Mercury.

I will post some pics when I find a motor for it.

Nice work, I'm kind of partial to the old skeeters myself.

Looks great. Nicely restored. Looks like it's going to be an awesome deal when it's done.

It works great tundra mike, I have done it to my friends old Champion and my dads Hydra-Sport also. It does not cost very much and if you can get some help it doesn't take very long

Tiny's Fiberglass in Texas has a ton of old Skeeter stuff. Check them out, I restored an old 92' SS90, was an awesome boat. Your boat is looking awesome.... Mine came full circle after I re-did the trailer to match the boat. GREAT JOB
