So I've finally gotten motivated to fix up the ol' river jet I bought from Marty a couple years ago. He did a great job with the initial build, but it still feels like Marty's boat to me, so I've decided to change it up a bit in order to make it my own.
Thought I'd share it here, since I'm sure I'll have a few questions along the way.
This is my first real project other than my Bullet, but I've got Mike Rogers (xpressspanky) helping me out with everything, and that guy's got a ton of knowledge and is very handy.
Here's a quick run down of what's in store;
1. Tear up existing carpet and replace with BCB's 24oz Ash colored carpet.
2. Take all carpet trim pieces to local powder-coating shop and have them anodized before re-installation.
3. Remove existing seats and replace with custom buckets from Bullet Boats.
4. Cut out existing livewell located in between the seats, and replace with custom fabricated cooler/armest/cupholder combo.
5. Cut out console and rebuild appx 4" taller.
6. Replace old batteries with Optima Blue tops complete with Rich's Custom Hydrilla Gear brackets.
7. Ditch existing portable fuel tanks and replace with a drag racing style foam packed fuel cell.
8. Ditch existing mesh wire sleeves and replace with shop vac tubing complete with red anodized bezels and fittings.
9. Purchase and install teleflex tilt steering column.
10. Purchase and install Autometer 5" stand alone monster tach.
11. Install Lowrance HDS7 with Insight mapping.
12. Purchase and install Power Pole 4' Signature Series anchor w/remote.
13. Install Bullet Boats interactive Plano holder between relocated console and front deck.
14. Remove existing stereo and speakers and replace with Clarion CZ500 with built-in Bluetooth & iPhone connectivity.
15. Purchase and install Clarion XR Series 500W amplifier as well as 4 SRQ Series 6.5" multiaxle speakers.
15. Remove carpet trailer bunks and replace with polypropylene boards from Mark Miller.
16. Fabricate and install brackets on back deck to secure a Yeti 45q Tundra series to be used as a casting platform/seat/and cooler.
17. Take to a custom airbrusher in Little Rock Arkansas for a WWII inspired paint job.
18. Reconfigure bilge area.
19. Biohazard style carpet graphics from Darryl.
20. Billet rod straps from Mark Peiser.
............that's about it for now, but I'm sure other things will need to be added/fabricated along the way.
Here's a few pics of what we've accomplished so far, as well as a rough mockup I created in photoshop.
