how to attach deck to stringers?

the wood in the boat was stapled together originally. Was thinking of putting peanutbutter on top of the stringers and stainless screw the deck to the stringers. I can reach under and between parts of the deck and stringers to tab the deck to the stringers but not everywhere, unless I cut the deck into smaller peices. The center peice is the part I'm needing advice for. Foam goes inbetween the two outer stringers so need to be sure deck is sealed to top of stringers. Not sure if I should put foam in before or after deck. Any goods ideas appreciated..

I've read that several times. You used wood dowels instead of screws and construction adhesive to glue it to the stringers. Your boats a little different than mine with the pvc drain pipe sealed and the deck glassed around the outside edges keeps the foam sealed in even if the tops of the stringers arent perfectly sealed. Never used wood dowels before but I'm thinking they wouldn't give much vertical strength to hold the deck down to the stringers but I havent ruled them out yet. How I put the foam in isnt that big a deal but was thinking it might be faster to pour it through a few holes in the deck. I'm probably overthinking this but wanted to hear some other ideas.

IM redoing my skeeter which is bulit similar to the way you are doin yours. I am using the peanutbutter on top of the stringers then i lay the floor on top also lay peanutbutter where the floor makes contact to the hull. I pre drill and countersunk the holes for the floor and used stainless steel screws then used peanutbutter to fill in the holes above the screws. I think this way will be just fine.

This way will hold up fine, better than when it was new.

Just a thought, why not put the foam in the top cap. If its in the floor and it does get wet it will never dry. If and when I cut a hole in my floor and pull out all the wet foam Im not putting any back. I will put it in the top cap somehow.

I don't think you can get the volume of foam in the top cap needed to keep a boat from sinking. There are a few tricks I've learned in my short boat restoration experience. But, I think the best thing one can do, is rebuild it so water doesn't get in. But, back to the original question, I used peanut butter and stainless deck screws, and then one last layer of mat and resin. I think PL and stainless screws will work well too. I liked WestTexas' method too.
