    Marine Carpet????

Where is the best place to get marine carpet, best price for the best value? I need about 10 sq.ft. This carpet is going on a step box that I made, also if I used treated wood is there anything else that I need to do to it before I carpet it? Thanks guys.

    Re: Marine Carpet???? (goober)

I have read a million posts about carpet quality, carpet prices and carpet durability. Seems as though the Bass Cat carpet is the best of all worlds. I've inquired as to why, but nobody seems to know. "It's just better" is about all you get. I also noticed that Bass Pro Shops sells a "premium grade" 24 oz. carpet. I don't think you'll go wrong with this either, but they are limited in their color selection. Let me know where you land on this.

check ebay, there is a company on there that will send you smaples in any of the sizes..12, 16, 20, 24oz...and the colors you think you would want. that way you can handle the product to see if you like it. i dont remember the name, but you cant miss them lol..and the price is pretty fair.

Now when you guys say 12......24 oz, what are you talking about. Is it the thickness of the carpet?

    Re: Marine Carpet???? (goober)

I bought mine from BassBoatCarpet.com. I found nothing wrong with my experience.

Be careful with the 24 oz carpet. If your rod boxes or storage box lids are tight using this thicker carpet would make them impossible to close.

Thanks Stretch1, I'm just covering a box I made for a step where the middle seat goes.
