    Optimax SN information

Hi, I've been offered a couple of used optimax engines which might or might not be useful as a parts supply for my 2007 225 optis, both engine have blown gearboxes but the powerhead are ok. the serial number on the one of them is 121423 which i believe might be a 2000 production, i know these early one had a few issues but would this be worth looking at for spares or not. thanks

    Re: Optimax SN information (how900)

Serial number is incomplete. Should be:

Digit, Letter, followed by six digits (example: 0G123456)

There are very few components that will interchange between 2000 model and 2007 model Optimax engines, however. Probably not worth it....
