Ranger 350V storage lid recarpet?????

I'm going to recarpet my 86 350V.

Are all the storage lids two pieces, with an inner and outer piece?
Do I have to separate the two in order to replace the carpet, or
does the carpet edges stuff between the two pieces??

It`s almost impossible to seperate the two pieces of the lid. Just trim off as much of the old carpet as you can and roll the new carpet inside the lip of the lid and use a good contact cemet in that area not regular carpet glue.

yes and almost impossiable to get apart..if you do you will break the inside one the glue is designed to be stronger than the glass stuff it between or i have seen guys run it over the lip and trim it on the inside of the inner lip

If I remember right, my 1989 Ranger 374 the carpet kink of shoved inbetween the inner and outer piece didn't it? He may be thinking the lid comes apart not knowing it stickes up inside about a 1/2 an inch.
