Carpet Alternative

I don't recall if the original post came from Bascat7 or Totalbeverage, search yielded no results. However, the topic was of finding a replacement for carpet for use in Bass Boats. I am very interested in this theory, especially for particular areas of the boat. I sure hope that this line of thought is not dropped as I be willing to spend time on R$D and a small bit of cash to pursue a venture like this as there is a need for such a product. Let' not let this go by, it would be kinda of neat for some board members to come up with a product that the industry could use.

if you look up-clever ideas-we are develping a carpet replacement like a DECK PAD.Originally setup for just the front trolling motor areas but now we are building cockpit floor replacement.THe great other feature besides comfort we can make it in almost any color/texture and now put your logo/name etc on it.Original target pricing was under $100.I look forward to your comments ,THANKS JOHN

You have the general idea that I was thinking of! It sounds as if it has progressed further along than I had thought. My Ideas are similar to what you are thinking. An idea put out there can be expounded on and improved on with a lot of ideas going "South" no doubt it will take some work and thinking before the complete idea is functional. Damn, this is fun!! I am afraid that at this point, I can be of little assistance, but will get to work on this and see what we come up with. "Necessisty is the Mother of Invention", and that is no bull! I know we or you can come up with something all of us can be proud of!

the template system is all set so the customer will send us the exact size,the hard part was designing a system were the pad could be easy to take off or replace but still stay attached at 75+mph but we did it and as far as adding your own personal logo we have 19k color/combinations available.look forward to hereing your feed back,JOHN

i am planning on doing carpet soon would love to see something other than carpet for the floor, want carpet on the deck and lids but floor i don't really think carpet is all that necessary.
