    Champion 2000 203 - Transom Tie/Anchor - Definitely Some Rot

I know i have rot because i had a steady faint drip coming down under the anchor bolt and after i got around to tighten it ( might have been loose for more than 2 years for all i know ) and drying it out i noticed that when i tighten the upper anchor bolt that it 'crunches' and it takes more to close it ( turns ).

Assuming the rot is local to the anchor bolt, what options to i have without yanking out the entire transom ?

    Help !!!! Please.

UPDATE: See link http://www.bbcboards.net/zerothread?id=586967 which is the final conclusion of root cause and next steps of this topic

Is the motor/jackplate dung into the glass anywhere?

TotalBev, thanks for asking/trying to help.

The other anchor bolt and the jackplate/engine looks very solid. I have even tried to tighten the bolts and they are tight and practically unmovable. It appears ( i hope ) that since the anchor bolt screws were loose from the outside on the starboard side and since it looks like they did not put silicon around the bolts ( I can see a bit of the threaded 2 rods looking a bit under that flat metal plate from outside ) it looks like the area was soaking up water for a few years probably every time the boat went out. And the boat is not stored in garage.. prior owner or myself...

Did Champs have wood transoms in 2000?

Yes, they have wood. It is like balsa wood, very soft. Ask me how I know . Mine was replaced with Coosa board back in 2005 and it is holding up fine.
