    Shined it up!!!

Well, after i busted the transom on my tin, my neighbor was selling his boat and I saw an opportunity. I probably would have never even thought about buying it, but my piddlin around with fixin up stuff and reading about all the 'glass refurbishing on here, I didnt think twice about it. It's a '93 Procraft and was oxidized pretty bad on the top cap and on one side. I have not made it to the side yet but finished the top cap this week. Heres a pic of the boat and a before and after pic of the top cap. It was work but worth it!!!

I know the before and after pics are of different sides but the whole top cap was the same.
I wet sanded, compounded, glazed, then waxed.

Looks great, now make sure you keep a good coat of wax or sealant on it, and wipe it down after each use with BBS or similar type spray wax.
Once the gel has been oxidized bad it needs to be kept protected for the UV rays of the sun or the oxidation will come right back.

    I've got the same boat - same color - same needs...It's a 170 Pro. It's soon to be "transformed"...pics will follow. I paid 2K for it w/a 135 Mariner

It's like a PFD compared to the Triton...but it's got all the necessities (until it hits the Big O with the wind up...).

    We'll see...

    Looks good

...fishing when I can, golfing when I have to...

Can someone post a list of stuff someone would need to wetsand for the first time? Also, would this help on an all white boat?
