How to measure carpet needed for boat

I am in the process of refurbishing a Yarcraft boat that is 17 feet long. and need to know how much carpet to order. Any suggestions?

Always measure the beam to see if you need a 6' or an 8' role (wide) and then as a safe bet ALWAYS get 10' longer than the boat length. Especially if you're going to do the rod lockers and or bunks.

I'll 2nd that! I bought a 25' roll of carpet for a 17' boat & barely will have enough to finish! ( I hope)
