Ok I know how to cut the corners on the lids but is there a formula or certain way for me to figure out what size of carpet I need for all 4 sides of the lid? Otherwords how do I measure the carpet for the lids?

lay your lid down on the carpet, trace your lid. then had about 2 1/4 inches all the way around, trace yourself a new line and start cutting.
