    Questions about my gel coat

I Have a 1984 Champion that I have partially restored, The problem that I have is with the gelcoat on the driver side of the boat on the top cap. It has a a few stress cracks that Im not to worried about. The main thing is that the boat is gold metal flake, The driver side of the top cap looks like it has faded to a shiny silver. The other side of the boat looks like brand new, The clear coat is still there, I was wondering if wet sanding might work, to bring back the gold finish, I scraped a little of when I bump a metal boat dock. Where the scratch is it looked like it took of the top layer and looks gold like the other side. Any suggestion just trying to get it to look like the other side without spending a fortune, If I can wet sand it out I will try it, Other wise Im just going to forget about it and fish. Thanks for any ideas.

I dont think it is oxidation because it is smooth and shiny, Im going to try to try to wet sand it a liitle and see what happens
