    Herculined the Boat Trailer Today......

and went pretty well. She definetly not the smooth paint finish but I like it. Lots of elbow grease.

Started at 11:00 am and finished at 5:00 pm. Not to bad. Lifting the boat off the trailer was alittle nerve racking but she is off.

Going to put all the lights, diamond plate, etc down tomorrow. I'll post some pictures when she is done.

If anyone has to re-do a trailer and doesn't mind alittle rougher surface this is definetly the way to go.

neighborhood of 100.00 bucks. had to buy a few things ie herculiner kit and xylene, i had the green scotch brite pads, paint tray, etc.

The prep is the ba$tard, the rolling on is the easy part.

Re: Herculined the Boat Trailer Today...... (rangerdaniel)

First off i recieved some great info from another member to get me started.

First step was to take everything off the trailer (lights, bunks, etc.) Stripped it clear down to just frame.

next dad and i used the green scotchbrite pads and went over every inch of the trailer taking it down to a dull finish. Also took a wire wheel on a drill and hit a few rust spots that were bubbled up. Then hit them with some rustoleum rust inhibitor.

After everything was scuffed we wiped the trailer down with xylene (Ace Hardware) to get any dust and whatnot off the trailer.

After a half hour or so we applied the herculiner per the directions and let set for 24 hrs..

I will have pictures tomorrow evening.
