    Need some help.

I have a 96 Cajun. My problem is that the cap is coming apart from the hull on the left side of the front. Pretty much only in the area that the trolling motor sits. The right side is still tight. What can I do to fix this. I was thinking about making some shims, and then filling the area with expadable foam. I figured I would ask the experts before doing something stupid.

The gap is like an inch. It looks like the cap is falling over the hull. I can push up on the cap, and it gets tight with the hull again. I have not taken anything apart as of yet. So I have no clue what I'm getting into. Would I be able to see anything if I were to take off the panel where the trollingmotor plug is? Hoping to be able to take a better look at it in the morning.
