    Re: (jeffsav)

Didn't see the Ouachita sticker I am doing a transome rebuild and have posted the OUACHITA art here. I could'nt find it anywhere so I had to make my own. It's fairly close and would make a good decal with a little more modern look.Good work on the boat. Got any Idea of the model or the name of the model of mine posted?

    Hey Tim

I don't know the year and model but a friend just yesterday dropped off a boat given to him and it looks similar to yours. I'll post pictures soon.

Tim, I think your boat may be a riverhawk. You may want to start your own thread to get people to respond better to your questions about your boat.

Nice job Jeff. With the stereo and speakers...all that is missing is the LCD Flat screen.

Nice job on the carpeting and deck...that really cleaned that up and tucked it up nicely.

You should be proud of it. Next time I will just send my project your way...and take "notes"

Re: 1977 Ouachita Spirit Deck Rebuild (PhilG)

I have been reburbishing my Ouachita 15 ft fiberglass over the winter. It is a nasty green color, but after 3 going overs with rubbing compound, she at least shines a little.

3 seats, steering console, and 36 hp Chrsler makes it a pretty comfortable boat to fish from.

I have enjoyed the procect thus far.

Re: 1977 Ouachita Spirit PICS!!! (jeffsav)

do you have any problems with ur amp for the sub wearing the battery out to soon? What size amp are you running? I have the exact same boat that we are restoring and was wanting to put a radio in it and would also like to put a sub in but i thought it would wear the batteries down to quick.

Re: 1977 Ouachita Spirit Deck Rebuild (jeffsav)

I owned a Spirit when they came out. It was white with silver metalflake cap and silver grey carpet. When new they had a long flag/banner looking emblem painted on the side symbolic of the 200 year anniversary off 1776. Most of my buddies had Rangers and they were faster than me but mine was built like a tank and it was a safe boat. If you are interested I'll try to find any old pictures I can find.

Those of you with pics, please post them. There is a tutorial thread here at BBC that explains how. Just search for "Posting Pictures".

Man that boat brings back some memories!!!!!! I live here where they were built and knew the owner until he passed. My uncle also worked there, he went on to work for Chrysler Marine. My Dad had a 1976 Ouachita Spirit, blue flake top cap and white hull, red stripes that were put on upside down at the factory. It had a 105 Chizzler on the back of it. I grew up fishing and water skiing behind that boat.

Re: 1977 Ouachita Spirit Deck Rebuild (marty92xrd)

I have not posted in a while. I have been FISHING! I have used my beloved Ouachita for almost a solid year. I have really enjoyed it. I have also been given some compliments on how it looks. I have caught many fish from it, and I hope many more.

JRD15 - I have not had problems with battery drainage from my sub. The sub is a 10" bazooka with a modest built-in amp. The rear speakers are 6" and the fronts are 4". I hope that helps you.

Thanks to everyone who looked at or posted here! Tight Lines!
