I saw a Cajun in somebody's back yard and wonder if it would be worthwhile to try to restore it: The good news: Its a dual console, 1996 Travis Edition Ragin' Cajun, 19'. He says the original 150 Johnson has less than 20 hours on it. He has a Johnson TM, some kind of Humminbird and Lowrance depthfinder for it (not on boat).
The bad news: Its been sitting outside for 4 years uncovered since the owner had a heart attack and he quit fishing. Gelcoat is badly ozidized, carpet is trashed, seats are trashed and would have to be complely rebuilt/reupholstered. the console is pretty ugly, too.
He said he would like to get rid of it and was thinking of giving it to the Salvation Army for a tax deduction (will they take a boat like that?).
Also, I would have to tow it about 300 miles.
What should I offer him, (if it's feasible), and what would it cost to restore?
