How is the best way to pressure test a fuel tank to see if it is leaking? I have 3 openings on the tank besides the sender, 1 is the fuel inlet, 1 is the fuel pickup and the last is a vent tube. How much pressure? How long should it hold that pressure?

take it to a radiator shop. Most have fittings that will cover the openings and you only have to put 5 - 10 PSI in it. If it holds for a few seconds, it's solid. It never holds pressure anyway, IF it's a built in model.
pressure it to the 5-10psi towards the bottom end. then hold the pressure. get a bottle of kids bubble soap and go arounfd all edge brushing the soap on .. watch for big bubbling
wow........5 to 10 lbs it will look like a basket ball...
they get 3 pounds and have to maintain that for 20 minutes
leave the sending unit in, clamp the vents off and air thru the fill and then seal.they make testers for it with a gauge.
if its in the boat and you put 10 lbs in it you will blow the tank supports out of it
and who knows what else...........
They are out of the boat and I thought that 10 was way to high but I have never tested any tanks so I wasn't sure. 3 Lbs sounds more like it. Thanks for all the replies.
You are looking for at least three lbs. And it must hold that 5 minutes for 50 gallons. 1 additional minute for each extra 5 gallons.
That's the standard we use and AFAIK is the ABYC standard as outlined by the NMMA
