    Anyone have any suggestions???

just had my 2000 Opti 225 rebuilt, broke it in to a T according to the procedures and now that I am at WOT, I am only getting 60 mph, whereas before the rebuild, i was turning about 67-68....I have a 210 Super Pro, ....any suggestions for troubleshooting would be appreciated...

Oh, running a 26 Tempest Plus as well, 10 " hyd jackplate...

    thanks,..Geno

What kind of rpm's do you have now compared to before?. Builder may have retarded timing for break-in.

    Geno:

RPM figures (at WOT, before and after rebuild) would be helpful.

Timing can't be "adjusted" on this engine, so there's little to concern with that.

However- it would be a good idea to confirm that the throttle is opening completely in the WOT position (the throttle arm should be within approximately 1/16" of the maximum throttle plate stop, but not "dead-hammered against the stop").

I was able to run about 6100 before ( which I did not) , but now I am smack dab on 5700 at WOT after the rebuild...

Check the throttle to make sure it's opening to full throttle.....

    Don't alter any screws!

Simply remove the plastic cover from atop the throttle plate- have someone hold the hotfoot (or control handle) at WOT, and look to ensure that the throttle plate is opening fully. It should be approximately 1/16" from the WOT stop (on the side of the throttle plate).

Well, I have to say I thank all of you for the suggestions and finally I fixed the problem without costing me a dollar...well here was the problem, I looked over every single thing 5 times, changed plugs again and when I was putting in the last plug on # 5, I realized that the plug for the fuel injector was just hanging there...plugged it back in, took it to the river and bingo....hit 68 on the gps...back to normal and stronger than ever....
