    TUFF COAT Jobs...?

    Lets see yours..

I'am thinking about possibly going with TUFF Coat in my boat rather then carpet.
Just curious to see how yours turned out.

How many coats & Gallons did you use?

Did you use the wood primer for the wood and the primer for the aluminum lids?

Was it alot of sanding to get it right?

    Do your compartments leak?

I done one, it lasted about 6 months and started to peel off. I had primed it with two coats of primer before applying the tuff-coat. It still on the aluminum lids but all the wood pieces ( the front and rear deck, and floor) started peeling off. Hope this helps.

Sorry to hear that, sounds like Tuff coat isnt the way to go then.
I'am looking for something to last quite a few years and withstand all weather conditions & UV rays and salt water ect..

I wonder how this stuff would do...

Seems you have made up your mind not to do it, but here are some pictures of mine.

Those are from the Lund fish and ski we have been restoring. (for way to long. I wish we had time to resume work on both projects. ) The deck is all plywood, with no hatches. We used a coat of primer, and 2 coats of TUFF COAT. So far we like it. But, it hasn't had much traffic, as it has sit under a tarp for 6 months, and still isn't complete.

You may notice the screw holes. This is after the first coat. We went back after then, with a little 1 inch brush, and dabbed in blobs in the holes, and it filled them up nicely.

Did your wood have any kind of sealer/epoxy on it? I'm looking at putting Tuffcoat in an old boat I'm working on, but was going to treat the wood with CPES before putting it in.
