The con sol on my xpress has been damaged by the sun and looks like it has a skin disease. It looks bad, any ideas?

we had a member once that was going to have a sign shop do a vinyl wrap on his dash...i thought that was a great idea.I think it would work and if does it take some pics.... might contact crazy elvis or Igs65 on this site they do graphics....
That is a good idea , that is the last thing I would have thought of.Thanks. The more I think about it, the more I like it.
can you post or send a pic of the console area???

Most guys wet sand and buff the hell out of it until the shine comes back.
Another guy on here got some camo wrap from Cabelas and redid his whole boat with it, and it looks SWEET. If I didnt already repaint my top half with a urethane base coat clear coat I would have strongly considered doing the wrap like he did.

I have the same problem on my '99 Triton Glove Box lid. Tried the wet sanding and it simply took the Woodgrain finish off if I sanded enough to get the sun damage off. I have ordered some FXSheeting from Alsa Corp (via Amazon) that is supposed to be good indoors and outdoors. It is a Burlwood laminate that is flexible like contact paper with a sticky backing. Will see how it works, they have many styles/colors, even a brushed aluminum. Durable enough that it can be used for counter tops.
Haven't receiived it yet, will let you know how it works and possibly some pictures if it works out.
To see the Skeeter with the cammo vinyl, get on eBay and put in "1983 Skeeter Starfire".
Sorry, I didn't give more information. The consol is black with a vinyl like finish with a thin foam underneath, like an old padded dash on a car,so sanding is out. I was thinking of some kind of paint but the wrap sounds like a good idea .Sorry it took so much time to get back to you guys.
