    2003 225 Optimax Rebuild (Should I buy or not?)

    I am looking at a boat that has a 2003 Optimax 225 Hp. It was rebuilt by a certified Merc tech in 2008. The owner said that the #8 Cylinder blew (injector went lean) and they honed all the cylinders and put a new piston and rings in the bad cylinder, and replaced all the rings in the other cylinders. There is only like 160 hours total on this motor, and only 11 hrs since the rebuild. I just need to know what I should look for and I will be taking it to get looked at before I buy it to make sure compressions are good. Any words of wisdom would be greatly appreciated.

    Computer Diagnostic System printouts of the Run History, and the Freeze Frame (Fault) History might also be useful.

    Gearcase/Gear lube inspection, and of course a "test run on the water" to confirm proper operation.
