    Lids - Extremely frustrating !

I pulled the lids off my 364V and started removing the carpeting from them. I should say, TRIED to remove the carpeting. How in the world do you get the carpeting out from between the two rim walls ? (Picture attached). It took me 45 minutes to do just one of them today. Once the carpet edges are out of the groove it's easy to pull off the rest of the carpet, but trying to pull the glued in carpet edges out of the groove is making me insane. I don't see how I'm going to get the new carpet stuffed back in the groove either.

You can see the outer rim in the picture but the flash washed out the inner rim. The outer rim is 1" high and the inner rim is 5/8" high. Would it be best to just cut the old carpet flush with the lower inside rim and then glue the new carpet over the top of both rims with contact cement?

makes my hands hurt just looking at this pic, flat blade screwdriver is what I find works best in getting it pried out

I didn't tuck mine back in when I put my new carpet in. I just glued it over the inside lip. It worked just fine.

The guys at Bass Boat Carpets said the same thing - cut the carpet flush and go over the top of the rims. It will save me about 10 hours.

i tucked my caroet under slopped with glue and put some thin strips of wood on both sides with some spring clamps holding them on tight for 24 hrs. the only thing i did wrong was to thin a layer of glue on the long hatches , i have wrinkles that i have to make a hole in and put some liquid nails in with weight on them.

When I was doing mine I ended up standing on it and pulling with a set of vice grips to get the carpet out but first used acetone to cut the glue... It was a pain
