    1984 Skeeter Restoration

Here she is, 1984 Skeeter Strada F80. So far just have the before pics. The pics show the oxidation pretty good, but don't do the clearcoat job any justice! I swear the last owner used a paint brush. It peels off in some places and some places it feels like its a 1/8 of an inch thick.

Well, I have spent about 20 hours wet sanding so far, and I have the top cap done (none of the inside has been started yet). I will post some more pics this weekend. It turned out really good. I started with 1000 grit........not enough to get thru the clearcoat. I went down to 600, that worked, than 1000, than 2000, then Meguiars Heavy Duty Oxidation Remover. Now I have to get a good finishing polish/wax. I think i will get the 3M Finesse IT 2!

Oh yeah, still have to do the carpet, a new stereo, and decals all around.

That's a beautiful boat. I like the color. Keep working on it, it is coming around.

The 3m finessit, will remove swirl marks, but is not a wax/sealent,but a fine polish. It will still need a good wax coat for final step.I believe in 3m products and their high gloss gelcoat compound followed with sealant.Good Luck!
