You guys wont beleive this deal I got. I bought a 1980 Ranger 275V with a 150 Mercery with a power jackplate,new SS prop,24volt motorguide 2 depth finders,,eagle fishmark 320`s Boat was faded,carpet shot. So I`m going to redo the whole thing,,,,,new carpet,clearcoat,paint the trailer,new tires rims and all...get this,,,I paid 600.00 for it and it runs great. The guy got a new Skeeter and his wife told him to get that dam ugly thing out of the drive,,,so I was nice enought to do that for her..LOL So as soon as i figure out how to post pic`s I`ll start posting them

OK GUYS I THINK I GOT IT FIGURED OUT. I STARTED THE MOTOR AND WARMED IT UP AND DID A COMPRESSON TEST AND SHE HIT 115 ON ALL CYLS. ALL THE RUBBER LINES ON THE MOTOR I REPLACE CAUSE THEY WHERE ALL DRY ROTTED. THE POWER TRIM WAS BRAND NEW BUT THE COUPLER THAT GOES BETWEEN THE MOTOER AND PUMP WAS NOT RIGHT AND HAD ROUNDED OUT THE TOP SO IT WOULDN`T DRIVE THE MOTOR. i TRYED TO GET 1 BUT NOBODY HAD THEM IN STOCK PLUS THAT LITLLE 1 IN PEICE OF METAL THEY WANTED 40.00 FOR IT,,,WELL I DIDN`T SEE IT SO i GOT A PEICE OF STOCK 1/2 INCH STEEL AND MADE MY OWEN....IT WORKED LIKE A CHARM THE FIRST TIME..I INSTALLED A WATER PRESSURE GUAGE ALSO,,,MORE LATER

Hey Doug, Step back and get a pic of the whole thing, "before". Then do it again when
you're done."After". I've restored 5 or 6 boats now. I think its a blast. Love to go back
and look at the" before and afters".

I had a Black max like that once before. It was a strong motor. never game me any trouble.

Hi guys, well I worked on her some today ,,got dark on me so I`ll take and post what I did. I resined the wood that was made into a deck extension with 2 heavy coats and while it was drying I wet sanded the top rail and consoles. Then washed them good and wiped it all down with wax and grease remover and let her dry. I masked off verything I didn`t want clear on,,,got my lights out so I could see down the sides and sprayed it all with 2 coats. I`m going to wet sand it in a couple of days and put 2 more coats on.
I hope this is going to be a good motor. I did a compresson test and she`s reading 115 on all cylinders. I installed a water pressure gauge since it`ll be using that power lift jack plate,,,i want to keep a eye on my pressure. Got all my wiring proplems taken care of,,so everything is working now,,,but still need to install a trim gauge,,can`t beleive it didn`t come with one. Can wait to try her out,,,be putting in the carpet next week,,,going to Cumberland Lake sometime,,,ready or not. I need a break!
