My buddy has a 1987 Champion 20' Fishski Model # SV-2000. The boat is near mint condition the only problem he is having with this boat is that the rear livewell (that year had one in the front deck and one under the middle seat in the back) wants to keep overflowing without running out. We have the two gas tanks out of the bak of the boat and are down to the check valves I guess you would call them. My question is that we had this problem once before but pulled out the old drain cable that ran to that check valve and replaced it with a different cable to run the lever on the valve. Back then we could not figure out how they ran that cable from the console area to that check valve down int he bilge area. So we just ran a different cable around the side and sort of looped it around in the bottom and hooked it to the bilge area. Well we have found out now that there is just too much of a loop in the cable to allow it to work properly so we can not get the valve to open and close to drain the livewell. Basically I need to know how to get that cable on more of a straight line from the console to that check valve. I hope this makes sense. Is there anyway to get some sort of schematic for the plumbing set-up on one of these boats????? Thank you.
