    Dash redone

One of my winter projects is to do some work on my Cajun. One project was to redo the original plastic molded stock dash. Here is the before and after.

The old one had the Yamaha trim/RPM/Oil indicator, a Speedo and a Fuel gauge. I added a water pressure guage and a voltmenter.

I first drew this all out using a CAD program. I then sent it off to my brother who lasered out a new panel from .060 316L stainless. The burl is actually a flexible laminate material i got from alsacorp.com. They make some pretty cool stuff. It's not made for outdoor use so I may clear coat it to give it a bit of UV protection. I also made the small bow panel from the same stuff.

Anyway, that's one project out of the way.

Finally got the dash done and installed. Pay no attention to that pile of wires on the floor. I still need to straighten out that birds nest.

Very Nice Job! All you need now is one of these steering wheels to make it REALLY POP.

Got it off ebay for 60 bucks plus shipping. The last time i looked there was one left.
