The previous owner of my 209 Gambler had the top cap and interior fiberglass sprayed with clear coat. While it looked good, it started to lift in some spots so I actually removed all of it with a product called AquaStrip. Anyway I wet sanded buffed and brought the finish to like new condition.
The problem that I have is that the clear coat in the seating area will not completely come off. I tried re-applying the stripper, scraping, etc etc, so I have patches of bare gel coat and clear coat (doesn't look very good). I am thinking about just re-clear-coating the fiberglass in the seating area. Can I just use the stuff in the can? Any special type?
Any other ideas on what I can do in this area? It's a single console so I have the step area and the port side around the passenger area.
Thanks
Mike
