paint choice

OK, this is for all the guys that have repainted thier boats. I started to just remove my carpet, and well you know what happens.... Now I am sanding the top cap and I will paint the top cap first before replacing the carpet. What kind of paint? Who makes it?
Please spell it out for me.... I've got a buddy who will spray for me but he doesn't know what paint to use or primier. I am taking pics as I go along now and I will post them as soon as I get then strightened out.

are you going to do it with automotive type paint?If so alot of builders that do the high dollar stuff use imron.........It is very durable but you need to wear a resperator and have good ventilation....he will know all about that
