Adhesive Remover and What Adhesive to re-stick non-slip pads

Hey Guys, my non-skid pads on the front of my Gambler are peeling back, what is the best adhesive remover for gelcoat, and what adhesive is best to re-stick the pads...

use carb cleaner. it removes just about everything [even epoxy] on gel coats. it even better than acetone.

Make sure the carb cleaner is not methyaline chloride based...most of the old carb cleaners was....It will eat the glue and the GEL>>>>>>>>>>>
3m adhesive remover will work fine.... 3m super 77 adhesive should glue it back down.

So if I go get a new can of carb cleaner it would be allright? Just curious, I will look for the 3m product, I guess at the Auto Parts Store...

Any brand of Acetone will work at removing the glue and won't harm the gel coat.

I used Permatex Heavy Duty Headliner and Carpet Adhesive on mine and have had no problems with them coming loose again. I've also used this on my carpet and seat decals with great results.

Ok guys, my wife says Nail Polish Remover will do the same thing? Any risk in that? It has acetone in it, and I really only have about 2 8" areas to do... I realize my wife knows nothing about bass boats and gelcoat but she makes a good point, and she knows fingernails

So I figure the acetone based nail polish remover would be a weaker solution than pure acetone... Any thoughts?
