Help setting up a 18' Tracker

Trying to help a buddy out to dial in his Tracker. He's running a aluminum 20P right now and is thinking about purchasing a SS prop. NOt quite sure wat prop runs best on these rigs. he has a merc 125 ELPTO pushn it and was considering purchasing a JP also. Wat kinda #'s would he be looking at? Thx in advance.

What numbers is he getting now? rpms, mph..? I think a 19p ss would work well if it is a V bottom tracker.

    Re: (BassinFever)

That's about all that rigs going to do. 2+4 motor isn't going to peel anyone back, and it's going to plug along at 5,200 rpms max.

Your bud can spend cash on a jack plate (6") and a new worked lazer prop, for a net gain of 4 mph. Then you're done, that's about all it'll do.

    Re: (BassinFever)

I had a 17p aluminum on my old 17ft alumacraft with a 90 merc and it would turn right around 5900-6000 rpms, so I would probably go a 19 or 20p SS.. And I see you're from Wausau, I'm in Point right now, do you have that stroker up here? I'd like to see that thing in person

Hey.. Thx for the reply. He has a 20p aluminum prop on rite now and i didnt wanna have him get a 20p ss and then have holeshot problems. But i guess u gotta start somewhere. Ive got it in storage but i will be makn my way down there in may to prefish for the wi river series at bukolt. More than welcome to come check it out.
