Deep Water on the Shenandoah in the Charles Town area???

    Well...the topic says it all.

I was on Rt 9 today, coming from Martinsburg, and when I crossed the Shenandoah, I looked to the left and saw what appeared to be a Glass boatcoming out of the hole.

Is there a stretch of deep water that I dont know about??

If so, do any of you know how to access it??

    Thanks guys

    Goose

I know the area you are talking about...around Harpers Ferry?

I have always been told there was a deep water access in the Charles Town area along Rt 9. I have been told this for years, but have been unable to locate it, and no one wants to say

I was coming from Martinsburg, to CharlesTown, and when I crossed the river, I looked to the left and saw what appeared to be a glass boat coming on plane.

I might head that way this weekend and scout the area in depth.

The only othe DEEP water area I know about on the Shenandoah is a 4 mile stretch in Front Royal Va. Access is not very good, but 2 people can launch a boat there. (A 1 person launch is very difficult)

I know its probably not what you saw, but there is a dam in Milleville, afew miles off of 9. I used to catfish below it alot as a kid. There is a boat ramp above the dam, but last I heard, it is not the place you want to leave your vehicle.

If your talking about the major bridge that goes over the potomac/shenendoah, its extremely rocky.
