    Raystown lake, PA 4/29/2010

A friend and I took off work to head out on the lake since that Friday before I had a great time and the fish were active. Well turns out the lake dropped 5 deg. and the wind was blowing at a steady 25mph. We fished from 11am to 7pm and I hooked 3 and landed 2 and he landed 1. All on plastics, me hematoma beaver and him watermelon worm.

We only found one area that held active fish. We fished it he landed one we fished a little more and then went somewhere else to see if we could find a duplicate area. We didn't. We came back to the same area and that is where I hooked my three.

Hoping to go out again this weekend supposed to be warm all week here in PA. Hopefully the bass will turn back on.

    Nice!
It seems like that lake can get moving pretty good when the wind picks up!

Mike where were you fishing? You should be hammering them right now.. I was out the 6th and the 8th and had at least 20 -25 each day. This was up lake. They are moving up and some were actually on beds already. I'm sure they moved back down with this cold spell. should be good fishing for the next 7-10 days before most are on beds.

PS- i don't fish the beds. All fish were caught on crankbaits..

Join the crowd. I was out yesterday on Beltzville (NE PA) from 4:30 till 7:30. Nothin' hitting at all. Saw a whole bunch of nice fish in the shallows - but none were active. Spent two days out in Presque Isle/Erie last weekend - also very tough. A handful of smaller fish here and there, but expected a lot more from Erie

    jrc27,

I was fishing around James Creek. I was there the week before and hammered them. But on that Friday the water temp dropped 5deg.

I am heading out this weekend 5/21. A very good friend of mine was there this past weekend for a striper tournament and he was saying that the alewives are spawning and the bass are tearing them up in the shallows. Can't wait to give it a shot.
