NE PA - Anybody on Paupack Yet ??

I caught my first couple fish the other day down south at Beltzville. Water temp hit low 50's this past weekend. I'm thinking of a trip to the "pack" sometime soon. I'm sure this "summer weather" is really going to screw up the typical spawning season. I was just curious if anyone has had some success up there yet.

I was out on Wednesday... Mainly getting my rig dialed in after putting 2" spacers on.
Fished some with no luck. My partner got a nice peickerel by Seelys cove. No bass as of yet. The wind was horrible and could not hold where we wanted to spoon.
I will turn on as soon as the water hits 52 - 53. Right now it was still upper
    40s.
I usually fish the Pack 3 - 4 times a week. Give me a shout if you want to know anything.

Sorry it's been awhile. I havn't been out since that first weekend in April. Let me tell you, Beltzville is one tough place to figure out . However, early in the spring the largemouth are right on top of any shallow shoreline crusing up and down. Any structure you can find is the place to be. You see a lot of them - catching them, well that's totally different. It's rather frustrating. Any soft plastics can catch em - natural colors like pumpkin/green. They will be bedding soon - early to mid May. June is typically a good month as well. Get out early and late in the day. Mid day is tough. Once July rolls in, I like to do a lot of night fishing. The smallies come into the shallows after dark - biggest black spinner bait you can find with the biggest colorado blade is the ticket. If your lucky enough you may find the stripers feeding just about anytime. Soft jerk baits/bass assasins, and bigger cranks may get you some really nice stripers. But again, like much of the fishing at this lake is right place/right time. It's really tough to pattern. Good luck this year. Me and a good friend are heading out to Erie first week of May. It will be my first trip out there. I heard it is simply AWESOME. Can't wait.
