Raystown is a VERY TOUGH lake to fish; at least for the past several years. Back in the 90's; especially the late 90's, ya couldn't fish there without getting into some quality Smallies. Not so now!! Now, you really have to work for every one. JMHO Good Luck.

So what is all the theories on the decline of Rays for bass? I've noticed it to. I can still remember trips in the mid 90's when we could pull 5-6 fish in an hour. We used to troll alot too and hook bass quite frequently?

I think the striper fishery is just taking everything over and the striper clubs are still stocking the place heavily.. but the fish and game continue to let it happen. Correct me if I'm wrong, but the stripers they put in raystown don't reproduce so they have to be stocked..

It is sad, because they could have some great events at rays.. It has some awesome structure. Its a lake with a little of everything. We still catch fish, especially upper end toward the river. But it isn't anything like it could be...
